I was in a strategy session with a Fortune 500 leadership team last month when the room went silent.
The CEO had just asked a simple question: “How do we stay relevant when everything around us is changing faster than we can adapt?”
Twenty brilliant minds. Complete silence.
Sound familiar?
We’re halfway through 2025 and whether we like it or not, things are rapidly changing around us. Be it AI or optimizations of other kinds – if we don’t catch up, we’ll be left behind.
Here are 2 keys to smoothly navigate uncertainty and stay anchored.
1. Embrace the Change as a Team
You have to hunker down as a team and take stock.
A storm can easily uproot a single tree, but can’t do anything to a forest.
I’ve seen too many leaders try to weather uncertainty alone. They become the bottleneck, the single point of failure. When pressure mounts, they crack.
Self-awareness is the first piece.
Start by asking your team these critical questions:
- What are we concerned about?
- What are opportunities hidden in plain sight?
- What disruptions can make us irrelevant?
- How do we get ahead of them?
- What are all the reasons we will not succeed in a specific initiative?
Now more than ever, it is important to build a culture of trust and making our sum greater than its parts.
The magic isn’t in having perfect answers – it’s in facing the questions together.
When your team owns the problem, they’ll fight to own the solution.
2. Tap into the Wisdom of Your Soul
Here’s where most leaders get it backwards. When chaos hits, they think the answer is to move faster, work harder, push more.
We can only embody what the mind can visualize.
To take a big leap, we first have to go a few steps back.
Ask yourself:
- How do you slow down so that you can achieve more?
- How do you tap into the power of meditation?
- How do you create space so wisdom can flow in?
After self-awareness, the next stage is stillness as that allows you to go beyond the noise of your thoughts and tap into your intuition.
Create space so the answers can arrive.
To conclude: If the pace of change is unprecedented, slow down and gain perspective. This is how you will get ahead of the curve.
Your Turn
What’s the one change your team has been avoiding that you need to face together?
That’s where your breakthrough is waiting.
